Healthcare scientists in Neurophysiology perform tests to investigate the function of the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles. These tests aid in the diagnosis and management of a range of conditions, including epilepsy, carpal tunnel syndrome and multiple sclerosis. ​

​Every day is different as a healthcare scientist in Neurophysiology:​

  • You will see patients of all ages, from newborn and premature babies to older adults​

  • You will see both outpatients and inpatients, working on specialist wards as well as in theatre for spinal surgery monitoring​

  • You will work on audits and research projects to contribute to improved patient care and outcomes

Entry Requirement​

Practitioner Training Programme (PTP)​

  • Undergraduate degree programme (BSc)​

  • 4 GCSEs including Maths, English and Science​

  • 2-3 A-levels (or equivalent) including science subjects ​

Scientist Training Programme (STP)​

  • Postgraduate degree programme (MSc)​

  • 1st or 2:1 undergraduate degree in a relevant science subject ​
