The Greater Manchester Imaging Network is delighted to announce that the GM PACS Viewer project is set to go live week commencing 14th July. This project will allow healthcare professionals across Greater Manchester direct access to radiology images via the Greater Manchester Care Record, which is also known as the Graphnet portal.

This marks a significant milestone in our journey to improve patient care by providing clinicians with faster access to richer, more comprehensive information—helping to streamline decision-making and reduce delays in treatment.

The new functionality has been through robust testing to ensure the system meets our operational needs and quality standards.

As we approach the launch date, we want to highlight some new benefits you can expect:

  • Clinicians will benefit from quicker turnaround times
  • Eliminates the need to navigate multiple platforms, saving time for healthcare professionals
  • More efficient patient reviews providing an improved patient experience

This first phase of the project will allow healthcare professionals to access a patient’s full list of images through a simple link to a PACS viewer within the Care Record. A second phase—due later in the year—will introduce access to detailed radiology reports directly within the Care Record, including patient and imaging information.
