leadership team.

This month, the Greater Manchester Diagnostics Network has bid farewell to Chris Sleight, Chief Officer and Katie Moss, Programme Director. Chris is retiring from his role as Chief Officer and Katie is moving on to explore new opportunities.

A huge thank you goes to Chris and Katie for their dedication and commitment to the team over the past five years, delivering many successful programmes of work that have driven the networks to where they are today. We wish them every success for the future.

With key members of the team leaving, it has opened the opportunity to bring together the Diagnostics Network team and the Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance team under a single leadership structure. Bringing the teams together will strengthen the diagnostic and cancer services for patients across Greater Manchester.

Claire O’Rourke, Managing Director for the Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance will undertake the leadership role to work across both the Greater Manchester Diagnostics Network and the Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance. Claire will be supported by Miss Susi Penney, Medical Director, and Alison Armstrong, Associate Director, at the Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance.

Claire O’Rourke said: “I’d like to give a huge thank you to Chris and Katie for their dedication and commitment over the last five years in delivering many successful programmes of work and wish them every success in the future.

“Bringing the Cancer Alliance and the Diagnostics Network together under a single leadership presents an exciting opportunity to strengthen both cancer and diagnostic services for people across Greater Manchester.”

There are significant pieces of work to be delivered across both the Diagnostics Network and the Cancer Alliance which will continue in line with annual plans and planning guidance. The collaboration is also aligned with the vision of the NHS 10 Year Plan and will ensure that our efforts contribute to system-wide transformation and improved outcomes for patients.
